FAQs

  • STEP 1

To begin the process of your nanny search you will first fill out the family application. Next, our agency will reach out to you for a phone call or virtual meeting to go over your Family Application with you.

During this process we’ll get to know you more, answer any questions you might have and clarify what you’re looking for in your potential nanny.

    STEP 2

After the initial meeting, If you would like to move forward, a $ $600 non refundable deposit is due to begin the nanny search.

This deposit covers the cost of searching for multiple nannies, screening them, verifying references and more.

You will also sign a contract that explains our legal terms at Ivy League Nannies.

We take our job seriously, we guarantee nothing but the best for you and your children.

    STEP 3

Lastly, we will send you "nanny profiles" of the best nannies we’ve chosen just for you! After you’ve chosen a nanny, an additional payment of $3,000 is due for the nanny placement fee. ( This includes ‘Trial Periods.’). Payment is due 5 days before the nannies start date.

Unlike other agencies we don’t charge any reoccurring fees after the Nanny is placed with you.

  • We charge $3,600 in total.

This is broken down into two main payments. The first payment is a non-refundable security deposit of $600 to begin the Nanny Search, and after you have selected the Nanny you’d like to hire, a final payment of $3,000 is due for the Nanny Placement Fee.

This payment goes toward our agency. It doesn’t go toward the Nannies hourly pay.

We supply both Full time and Part time nannies.

  • In a rare case that you don’t like any of the nanny profiles we send you, we will then supply you with other nanny profiles.

  • Once a nanny is hired we will continuously check in on the both of you to make sure things are going smoothly and everyone is happy.

If you find the nanny isn't a perfect fit within 6 months, and haven’t already used your second round of Nanny Searches, we will supply other nannies for you to choose from, at no extra cost to you!

  • First, the nanny has to meet our requirements for our agency.

    Our requirements are:

    • Currently live in the D.C, Maryland or Virginia Area.

    • Preferably a minimum of 5 years paid experience working in the childcare or education field.

    • Experience working with toddlers, infants or school age children

    • Currently be CPR & First Aid certified or planning on becoming certified.

    • American Citizenship/Documentation providing work eligibility.

    • Current drivers license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.

    • Law abiding citizen with a clear criminal background.

    • Valid references

    • Clean Background checks (sex offender, crime, drug tests..etc.)

If the nanny meets all of the requirements,

The Nanny will then subscribe to receive updates when there are jobs near her.

When a position arises that the nanny is interested in, they will reach out to our agency and we will schedule an interview with them.

After the interview, if we feel like the Nanny would be a good fit for that family, we would start the screening process.

The screening process involves various things like background checks, drug testing, sex offender search..etc. All of this is free for the nanny because the parents would’ve initially paid the $600 to start the nanny search, and that would go toward the nannies background checks.

If everything checks out, we will send the nannies profile via email to that family. If the family likes the nanny, our agency will set up a time and date for you all to meet.

If the family decides to hire the Nanny, the Nanny would sign a ‘Ivy League Nannies’ contract and they’ll be on their way.

  • We work extremely hard and diligently to find the best childcare for every family we work with.

Our first priority is to always find someone that fits what the parent is looking for in a nanny. We do our best to accommodate both the nanny and the family.

Due to searching, verifying and getting numerous profiles together to send to the family , it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. But we do our best to find a nanny as fast as possible.

  • No, definitely not!

We know how tough it can be to find the perfect family fit. We do not take any money from the nanny.

We do require things like background checks, drug tests, verified references..etc., but our agency pays for that.

  • Families typically pay nannies no less than 25 an hour, but the more experience a nanny has, typically the more money she will make.

It also depends on the amount of work the nanny will be doing.

The pay range in the D.M.V area for a Nanny through a Nanny Agency is about 25$-27$ an hour.

  • Our Nannies are independent contractors so we don’t take care of their taxes. Our job is to be a matchmaker and connect families with nannies. When a nanny is hired, before the nannies start date, it’s important that both parties decide on things like pay, sick leave, vacation, taxes, healthcare… etc.

  • We have tons of nannies in our database already, but we typically find these nannies through utilizing word of mouth, internet, advertisements and more.

  • It is completely up to the family and the nanny when it comes down to what they feel is best. But, I think our agency is truly the best, here’s why…

With over 10 years of experience working as a Nanny, I can relate to our nannies on such a different level because i’ve been there. I know how much a nanny wants to find a position that is with a loving and honest family.

Then, I’ve also been on the position of a Mama bear with a young child. Seeing how vulnerable my baby is, and feeling like I need to be there at all times. I can relate to the nervousness families feel when it comes to looking for childcare and I rely heavily on my empathy and attention to detail to find the best fit for both parties.

So, because of that I feel like my understanding and empathy really sets me apart.

Compared to other agencies, I do my best to show that I care by going above and beyond to check on both parties up to a month after they’ve already started working together.

Lastly, I feel like my agency stands out because it is our priority to find high quality childcare while still being affordable. We take pride in being one of the most affordable agencies in the DMV area. Thats important to us. We genuinely care and we hope you’ll see that too!
